First Week.

It's been a whole week since I first arrived in the Dominican Republic. I was assigned to a small town in the east of the Island called Hato Mayor. So far it has been a tremendous experience. I've been working closely with the communities surrounding the town, examining the process of microfinance. The people that receive their loans are extremely proud of what they have accomplished with their small yet profitable businesses. Their lives have changed so much. I am looking forward to an entire summer of working with people to better their lives.
